Welcome to Nancy !
This page has been prepared specially for you, as
this may be your first visit to Nancy. We would like to give you some
helpful advice to prepare your arrival, and a few ideas for interesting
visits during your stay in the Town.
Once you are comfortably installed in your room and have rested after
the stress of the voyage, now you are ready to set off in search of
adventure through the streets ! But before setting foot outside, make
sure that you are comfortably clothed.
First of all, put on a good pair of shoes. Prepare to walk for a long
time as you sure to stop frequently to discover a host of interesting
details. You know how a day spent shopping can be hard on the legs … Stop,
start, stop again … So, if you don not have suitable shoes, then
prepare to suffer.
The weather in Nancy can be very fickle : a fine sunny morning can
quickly turn into a sky of thick clouds and a chilly breeze. No doubt
that our Canadian friends, who are used to the weather in Montreal,
will find the climate in Nancy very mild. But for visitors from the
south of France, it is worth knowing that outside the period May – September,
the temperature is never very high in Nancy. So it is a good idea to
pack a light sweater and good windcheater.
And in any case, do not forget your umbrella, which will sometimes
be your best friend in the streets, especially if you wish to take photographs
of the town … as rain and cameras do not go well together.
